Network Operations Center Technician (NOC)

Network Operations Center Technician II

· Responsible for equipment monitoring, trouble ticket generation and troubleshooting activities associated with Broadpoint VSAT and Cellular infrastructure and remote systems.

· Ensures that the performance of the Broadpoint network meets the high standards of service we provide for our customers and end users.

· Pro-actively monitors the conditions of the Network, Remote and Terrestrial facilities during normal operations, including the status of all system alarms, all active components comprising the telecommunications networks as well as status of systems alarms for Broadpoint VSAT and Cellular networks

· Participates in level-1 and level-2 troubleshooting of VSAT and Cellular systems

· Interfaces directly with Broadpoint customers of all levels

· In case of service interruption, commences as soon as practical repair and restoration actions, either as requested by controlling party or as locally determined at the facilities.

· Develops all necessary skill sets needed to properly function within the position's requirements to provide operation and maintenance to a variety of station systems.

· Works a rotating On-call schedule with call-out responsibilities

· Provide theoretical and practical training to station staff in operational procedures and the repair and maintenance of the equipment.

Minimum Requirements:

· In depth knowledge of VSAT systems to include TDM/TDMA and SCPC systems

· 3 years’ experience in troubleshooting and maintaining VSAT systems

· Operating knowledge of satellite telecommunications concepts

· General working knowledge of routers, switches and IP protocol.

· Fluency in English, spoken and written.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in the maintenance and troubleshooting of ViperSat, iDirect, and SkyEdge systems a huge plus

Educational Requirements

Minimum Two-Year degree in Electronics Technology, Telecommunications Technology or equivalent Military experience.

Office Location:  Harahan, LA.
