Network Engineer / Test & Turn Up
The Security Capitol Plan for 2008 will target the replacement of existing security equipment with new IP based hardware. This will involve interfacing with venders, project managers and the engineering team to configure ports on existing switches and install configurations and implement new Cisco switches at remote sites.
The Network engineer is responsible for configuring the network device and troubleshooting with the security vender.
Job Description:
Provides effective implementation and support of the security capitol plan activities including accurate problem identification, ticket documentation and customer/vendor dialogue.
Job Requirements:
Basic Routing and Switching concepts (CCNA level) and/or experience with 3745 routers and 3550,3560,4503 switches or equivelant
Basic LAN and WAN troubleshooting skills
Wireless LAN’s
Ability to follow documented steps and processes
Ability to identify situations that need escalations
Microsoft Excel and Visio skills
Qualifications:
· Bachelor degree in a Computer Science, Telecommunications, or equivalent highly desirable and/or preferred.
· 3 - 5 years of extensive network design or operational experience within a large enterprise environment, some of it in a multi-platform, distributed environment.
· CCNA Certification or equivalent highly desirable and/or preferred.
