Marketing Communications Manager

 

The Marketing Communications Manager is accountable for flawless execution of marketing campaigns and is responsible for management of related work streams, ensuring quality on-time execution of customer communications. You will juggle the coordination & prioritization of many projects that span various VMU business units. You’ll demonstrate how effectively you function within a multidisciplinary environment – offering a broad understanding of production and resource requirements, timelines and costs needed to fulfill a range of marketing and communication projects.



Requests for ad-hoc customer communications will flow through this role and require communication with internal and external resources in order to deliver. It’s essential to stay composed under fire, remain organized and level-headed in the midst of impending deadlines, conflicting priorities and demanding clients. Experience within fast-paced, creative environments is a must.

 

The ability to clearly communicate with and build consensus among individuals in a wide array of disciplines is essential, as is strong process management capabilities.



 

Some of the nitty-gritty details include: Lead workflow process – setting parameters around campaign initiation and execution Execute campaigns on-time and on-budget Secure competitive costs while maintaining appropriate quality control Assess project needs and design production process flow Develop timelines, accountabilities, intermediate and end product delivery dates, and contingencies for each major element of the project Route work – internally, externally – and secure necessary approvals Support team at cross-functional meetings to understand deliverables and project objectives as well as represent capabilities and resource commitments Assess data available against project needs in order to determine requirements Consult with agencies and other internal and external resources and incorporate best practices for treatment implementation Manage outside agencies and service vendors: Communicate project requirements Negotiate pricing Prepare and oversee service agreements and SOWs Day-to-day workflow, scheduling and approvals

 

Getting the job requires 5 years of multi-channel direct marketing production experience (direct mail, email, sms & outbound telemarketing), strong presentation skills and process/vendor management abilities. Demonstrated knowledge of best practices, a thorough understanding of direct marketing channel production and evaluation processes, strong written and verbal communication skill, plus good project management and analytical skills are needed to succeed.
