Manager - Vertical Data Sales

Sales/Retail/Business Development p { font-size: 11px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 12px; } Responsibilities This position will be quota bearing and responsible for assisting the National Account Managers in selling wireless data services within the Finance and Insurance Industries. Customers will be national accounts and Fortune 1000 companies, primarily based in the South, with highly mobile workforces or remote equipment that needs to be monitored. The duties and responsibilities include:· Provide the vertical industry subject matter expertise for a specific segment.· Represent Verizon Wireless within vertical industry associations and at trade shows.· Develop solid working relationship with vertical segment sales teams at partner companies including Microsoft, RIM, Samsung, Kyocera, Sierra Wireless, palmOne and industry- specific software developers and system integrators.· Assist National Account Manager to conduct needs analysis and develop data strategy for named accounts.· Support on-site customer meetings, presentations, demonstrations and trials.· Develop comprehensive RFP responses and ROI models in conjunction with National Account Manager and data partners.· 50-75% travel may be required· Applicant should reside in the South Area. Position may be located in any South Area regional or area office. p { font-size: 11px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 12px; } Qualifications · 5+ years technical sales experience into Fortune 1000 accounts.· Sales experience into CIO organization.· RFP experience for large computer and/or telecommunication projects.· Financial acumen to generate comprehensive ROI model.· Solid technical understanding of wireless networks and transmission of data over wireless networks.· Bachelors Degree in Business/Marketing or equivalent experience.· Basic understanding of WAN data communications technologies, including bridges, routers, gateways, multiplexers, packet switches and TCP/IP networking protocol, MPLS networks and managed services is a plus.· Basic understanding of data transport services, including analog and digital data services, X.25, Frame Delay, and/or ATM is a plus.· Understanding of the concept of Fixed Mobile Convergence and its benefits is a plus.· Vertical Expertise in the Finance and Insurance industry is a plus.
