Manager, Information Resource Management
JOB DESCRIPTION: Candidate should have five or more years of progressively responsible experience in all phases of relational database development and management. We are looking for someone who is serious about quality and wants to lead a DBA team who are busy supporting multiple databases and building a data warehouse. Team activities include software and database development, maintenance, installation, configuration, administration, availability and performance monitoring, and ETL’s. In addition, experience with SDLC, standards definition, capacity planning, disaster recovery planning and testing is a real plus. Candidate should possess excellent analytical ability, attention to details, strong management skills and the ability to work effectively with internal customers and IT management and staff. JOB DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Provide strong hands-on leadership and direction to the team by mentoring team members and assisting them in carrying out their responsibilities. Coordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments and recognition/disciplinary actions. Direct the review of database design, integration of systems, backup and recovery; Provides recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements. Manage the formulation and adherence of policies, procedures, and standards relating to software development, database management, availability and security, and monitors transaction activity and utilization. Ensure that systems and processes are in compliance with internal policies and procedures. Ensure stability and availability of the production application and database environments. Implement and manage to a SDLC. Manage day to day operations of data warehouse including architecture, tuning, growth and file structure along with ETL development. Integration of third party applications. REQUIRED SKILLS:· Expertise in all aspects of supporting and managing large-scale RDBMS environments, including stored procedures, database replication, advanced SQL queries, back-up and restore procedures, as well as installation and upgrades. Experience with building and managing a data warehouse including ETLs, BI tools, data marts, and subsequent reporting. Experienced in performance maintenance and problem resolution. Experience in data QA procedures and data management. Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and consultative skills. Good negotiation skills and ability to effectively resolve conflicting priorities from multiple customers. Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships. Ability to manage and enforce policies and procedures. Excellent planning skills, project estimating and people management; Ability to analyze workloads and manage resources and follow-up on commitments. Demonstrated ability to adapt to a rapidly-changing multi-project work environment. Experience with RAC and RMAN a plus. Experienced with Oracle 7i through 10g REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or a related discipline desired. 5+ years of experience managing extended teams of 4-12 members. 5+ years of increasingly responsible experience in software and database development and administration.
