Due to our continued growth and customer demand we are currently recruiting for a qualified, interested and available Engineering Manager for an opportunity in our After Market Services group located in Westerville, OH.
The position provides management guidance and direction to the After Market Services test engineering and repair team, including repair engineers, program and repair facilities managers while maintaining department business objectives and profitability targets. Supports the repair operators and technicians through working team leads; bridges the interaction between other business units including engineering design and test engineers to ensure product specifications, test procedures are executed in accordance with original product specifications, to ensure timely and cost effective repair of several families of products initially designed and manufactured by the Andrew Corporation. This manager will be responsible for all elements of definition, implementation and execution of test and repair procedures, including the provisioning of test equipment, assembly, validation, deployment, training, and maintenance and performance metrics of test assets for the repair technicians to efficiently run the repair operation.
Essential functions:
- Leads Andrew’s Test and Repair Engineering team with the overall responsibility for project prioritization, conflict resolution, scheduling of resources (employees and equipment) and interaction with original product design engineers to meet the requirements of the After
- Market Services product repair division.
- Implements and maintains the necessary business process and procedures to ensure repair volumes and quality objectives are satisfied which includes all existing and new product introductions that will eventually be services by the After Market Services group as part of initial or extended warranty programs.
- Works cohesively with all levels across the internal After Market Services group, the product design community as well as the supported business units which include the Filter, Amplifier, and Geometrix, the New Product Introduction team as well as our international manufacturing facilities and suppliers.
- Validates that test fixtures and repair procedures are developed consistent with the initial design specifications, volume projections and can yield the necessary Quality objectives to maintain our ISO and TL certifications.
- Analyze future repair business forecasts to determine resource needs for staff, materials, information, and facilities capacity based on regular interaction with Program Management and demands from our Worldwide Sales staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial), Masters preferred;
- 6+ years direct experience managing test, design or repair engineers in the execution of complete product lifecycle testing and maintenance;
- Proven experience with amplifiers and filters in support of telecommunications infrastructure equipment;
- Practical working knowledge of engineering design requirements, validation, code development, testing and repair;
- Project management practices and techniques as well as performance metrics;
- Working knowledge of RF tools and associated laboratory test equipment;
- Excellent interpersonal communications skills;
- Track record of problem resolution;
- Ability to manage multiple projects and schedules effectively with measureable results; and
Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, including internationally.
