MSS Product Development and Support Manager

Job Description

 

The Mobile Satellite Services Product Development and Support Manager has life cycle responsibility and quality control of Segovia’s Mobile Satellite Products and Services. Develops and incorporates new mobile satellite services into the suite of Segovia’s product portfolio overseeing the transition of Segovia’s MSS products from research and development through market introduction.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

Develops Segovia MSS product and service descriptions, specifications and internal and external product and service training material

 

Overall responsibility for product change management to ensure all mobile satellite hardware and service releases, revisions, and upgrades are quality tested and incorporated as Segovia standards and communicated to our customers

 

Oversees the migration of all MSS product and service software and hardware. Works with Engineering, MSS Service Delivery, and Marketing on the research, development, and implementation of new products, features, and services

 

Accountable for the development of knowledge and skills within Segovia, to include conducting training classes for all current and new Mobile Satellite Products and Services

 

Develops, documents, and maintains product and service support and administration procedures for MSS Service Delivery, Program Management, Sales, Sales Support, Operations, and Customer Support

 

Supports Business Operations with MSS Contract Management, RFP and RFI responses, Sales and Business Development efforts

 

Maintains and enforces MSS Vendor Management for hardware and service rate schedules and discounts

 

Acts Mobile Satellite Services subject matter expert (SME) and provides Tier III support as needed.

Skills and Knowledge

 Strong customer focus with the ability to establish and maintain a high level of internal and external customer trust and confidenceThorough understanding of INMARSAT, Land mobile, Aeronautical, and Maritime satellite products and services and possess the ability to provide internal and external trainingThorough understanding of the support of TCP/IP network technologies, Fixed and Mobile VSAT, and MPLS networksExcellent leadership, customer service, interpersonal, motivational and both technical and non technical written and oral communication skillsExperienced in technology deployments and configuration management, and possess the ability to lead and manage technical projects and tasks with cross functional groups  Maintains up-to-date and next generation knowledge of technical and/or business developments in the mobile satellite communications industryProject management

 

Experience

 BS/BA Degree in Computer Science or Engineering plus a minimum of three years directly related work experience in the mobile satellite services industryExperience interfacing with vendors, partners, and both internal and external customersExperience using call management tools and trouble ticketing systems to receive and log customer calls and track status.Experience leading and working in a team environment Experience leading  business meetings including presentations Experience providing technical trainingExperience in the Federal and State Marketplace, Department of Defense, and Homeland Security
