Interactive Design Manager

The Interactive Design Manager will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to identify and design new features and improvements for JDSU.com. The ideal candidate will have an excellent command of design in an interactive environment and an applied understanding of best practices in web usability, IA, site navigation, and ebusiness.This role will report to the Web Marketing Manager in the Corporate Marketing team and will work directly with the product groups, corporate marketing, technical teams, HR, regional marketing teams, vendors and consultants. . Summary of Responsibilities:· Engage with JDSU marketing, business units, IT, content owners, and project stakeholders to identify site content requirements for JDSU.com.· In partnership with the marketing team, develop online design strategies that deliver a compelling web experience, increased value and convenience for customers, as well as improved productivity and responsiveness for JDSU. · Apply creative skills to help define and execute online marketing programs that build awareness of the company brand, drive customer loyalty, generate traffic to the website, and achieve ROI targets.· Design compelling page layouts and web graphics, working with our design team and outside vendors as needed, to support new content, launches, and promotions. · Assist in conducting usability research and user feedback to drive site improvements.Skills Required:· 7-10 years interactive design experience, developing websites and content, including web design, interactive tools, and online programs for global, multi-division, B-to-B companies.· Familiarity with html, web publishing, asset management, new media, and Web 2.0 tactics required. Experience in supporting global sites a plus.· Self-starter with strong leadership and prioritization skills with the ability to expand visual systems and templates into pages that deliver a compelling user experience and clear call-to-action. · Ability to express, communicate, and sell ideas to internal clients, peers, executives and business partners. · Demonstrated command of current web design standards and best practices.· Ability to build and maintain strong partnerships with internal team members, project stakeholders, and vendors to maximize results. Duties:· Provide web design solutions that extend the JDSU.com design system and page templates to support new marketing and corporate content requirements.· Maintain and manage the necessary design infrastructure for JDSU.com, including online styleguide, page templates, design assets, and procedures. · Add creative thinking and real-time web design expertise as we define options for projects and initiatives.· Partner with web team to help define new vehicles and supporting technology that supports business objectives.· Manage web design projects assigned to outside vendors as required.· Use interactive skills to support online programs including training for our CMS.· Make regular updates to website in CMS environment as needed.Qualifications· Bachelor's degree or equivalent in graphic or interactive design, plus 7-10 + years applicable experience.· Design and project management experience in B-to-B companies, supporting Internet and Intranet environments. · Experience working in web supported by enterprise Content Management Systems (CMS).· Basic knowledge of HTML and ASP and experience in design software and web implementation tools/languages: Adobe CS3, Photoshop, Illustrator/Freehand, Flash, html, dhtml, and JavaScript. · Familiarity with web technology and how it can be leveraged as a communication and business tool. · Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment with the ability to adapt to change. · Effective interpersonal, communication, time management, and collaboration skills. · Ability to design for global web users.· Knowledge and experience with e-marketing campaigns a plus.
