Installer/Service Technician

Perform requested and non-pay disconnects, adhering to Comcast procedures and safe work practices, NEC and NESC requirements, and local ordinances in order to provide requested services.

Pre-wire single unit dwellings in order to provide "ready hook-up"; capabilities.

Clean, maintain and stock vehicle and equipment in order to be prepared to perform required duties.

Inspect existing ground or make new ground according to the National Electrical Code (NEC) in order to protect employees, customers, and equipment from electrical shock or damage.

Complete associated paperwork with each work order in a timely manner in order to ensure all details of the work are recorded for entry in the customer’s account once the work is checked in.

During the course of normal day-to-day activities: a.Properly operate and maintain installation tools and equipment. b.Report need for vehicle repair or service when required and/or prescribed. c.Report any accidents, losses, injuries or property damage to supervisor and customer when appropriate.

Apply knowledge and skills of training on the job in order to prepare for transition to Intstaller/Service Tech II.

Perform other duties as requested by supervisor in order to achieve departmental goals and objectives.

Required Skills:
Operational Competencies: Must be able to utilize tools and equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and/or those identified by Comcast.

Ability to use basic cable installation tools and hand tools Ability to perform job from high places (on poles and roofs) Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), various state and local codes including G.O. 95 and G.O. 128, (when applicable), and the policies and procedures for CATV installation activities preferred.

Ability to read general system layouts from blueprints preferred.

Knowledge of cable television products and services. Knowledge of basic mathematics.

Ability to communicate with customers in a clear and straight forward manner. Ability to work independently. Ability to prioritize and organize effectively.

Training/Licenses/Certifications: Valid drivers license and good driving record High school diploma or equivalent Ability to work overtime, as needed.

Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance required.
