SUMMARY: Responsible for all Engineering activities including product launches and headend/hub site deployments. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:• Engineer and design new headends and hubs as well as upgrades to existing locations.• Plan and implement new product introductions including Video on Demand and Digital Voice.• Coordinate the completion of project to assure they are finished on time and on budget.• Prepare and keep current headend/hub documentation.• Coordinate the training of headend personnel.• Evaluates headend equipment options and makes sound judgments for procurement of same based on performance, quality, and costs.• On call as a backup to headend technicians.• Communicate and coordinate with other departments all planned changes and seek feedback to effectively handle customer concerns, communicate projects and other headend issues.• Act as a subject matter expert of all cable related items in the headend.• Work with Corporate Advance Engineering to maintain and trouble shoot Comcast High Speed Internet, Digital Voice and Video on Demand service.• Assist with Engineering budget process and provide technical expense analysis and support.• Provide guidance for system improvement initiatives.• Interpret, maintain and install network management software.(Spectrum, CIPS and LMC)• Interface with other departments regarding daily Video On-Demand error reporting and database management, coordinate with addressable operations staff regarding digital and analog addressability activity. • Maintain and configure network devices; hubs, switches and routers.• Support all facilities and headend personnel in service area including Lake County, Central and West Florida.Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance.

Required Skills:
EDUCATION: • Associates degree in Electronics or Computer Science or equivalent in work experience and self-study.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Strong Problem solving ability with excellent written and verbal communication skills.• Strong working knowledge of software: including Access, Excel, Word, Visio and Project.• Strong working knowledge of ASP, ASP.net, HTML, Javascript and SQL or equivalent. • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, networking and comfortable in high-tech environment.• Committed to personal development; willing to learn all aspects of headend engineering.• Customer service oriented; willing to work varied non-standard work shifts and hours and perform on call duties as necessary.EXPERIENCE: • System Maintenance level or related engineering/ technical experience preferred.• Prior headend and/or computer networking experience a plus.• Experience with ATM, Cisco Switches, Scientific Atlanta network transport gear, SA DNCS, and the ability to learn new technologies.
