Facilities Engineer

Full Time, Temporary/Contract/Project Job Category: Engineering Facilities Engineer Our client is currently looking for a Field Control Engineer to assist them in the safe and reliable operation of data center locations as well as other key operational sites. On a day-to-day basis, this individual will be working with the DC Facilities Operations team to maintain, respond to, repair and report on DC facilities events. The team will also be monitoring, planning and upgrading DC facilities to align activities in meeting departmental/corporate goals and priorities.To be qualified for this position, this individual should have at least five years of experience managing a large scale or multiple DC Facilities. Experience in all phases of Data Center design, implementation, operation and incident response. Under the general direction of the Team Lead of Control Operations, the Field Control Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to: - Coordination of DC Facilities operations and personnel in different sites. - Work with upper management to implement improved DC Facilities policies/procedures to include Incident Response/Casualty Control - Implement/revise existing facilities policies and procedures. - Standardize SOPs, MOPs, RFPs, SLA and PM contracts. - Initiate and monitor Safety programs - Develop DC facilities Operation Certification requirements - On-call escalation point for DC Facilities issues/outages - Maintain clean, safe, and organized working environments - Design and implement preventive maintenance standards and schedules - Develop and implement DC Facilities Operations Manuals and training programs - Record DC Facilities problems and data of significant complexity - Handle special projects and other duties as assignedManage DC Facilities Operations: - Shall perform necessary operations on complex mechanical and electrical systems on a 24x7x365 basis. Delivery of uninterrupted clean power and conditioned air to highly critical DC Facilities - Maintain, operate, troubleshoot, and repair standby diesel generators and related fuel systems. - Maintain, operate, troubleshoot, and repair 3 phase electrical systems that include but are not limited to switch gear, UPSs, PDUs, DSTSs, wet cell batteries and associated systems using internal staff and outside vendor sources.This individual will carry a pager and/or cell phone to support DC operations on a 24x7x365 basis.
