Comcast Cable Eastern Division

* Ensure stability and quality of video service
* Isolate and Troubleshoot Video Service Network (VOD)
* Proactive management and diagnosis of video service degradation
* Interpret, correlate, and isolate alarm/soft conditions
* Restore/Maintain Back-up Paths and Spare Kits
* Integrate and test new VOD versions, products and tools to enable new technologies
* Determine if outage is Provider or Network related
* Interface with third party service vendors (i.e., Miranda, Content Providers, Motorola, SeaChange, TVN, Microsoft, FYI, CSG, etc.)Perform other related duties as assigned.
* Inventory Management
* Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance.

Required Skills:
* Minimum Associate technical degree or 5 years related work experience
* Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve IP network troubles in the physical, data link, and network layers
* Exposure to some of the following tools or industry equivalent: SEMS, VOD Servers, and SNMP Devices
* Understanding of communication networking components and protocols (i.e., routers, LAN topology, Ethernet, SONET, EIGRP, RIP, etc.)
* And this is a Network Operations Center (NOC) environment so you must have the ability to handle shift work on a 24x7x365 basis including holidays and weekends. Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance is mandatory
* Ability to self-motivate and work independently
* Team player with ability to communicate across functional organizations
* Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
* Independent decision-making skills, Strong analytical and oral and written communication
* Experience as a hardware engineer in a multi-channel environment
* Exposure to interactive TV/VOD or media industry
* Video industry specific familiarity with ingest stations, ad-insertion and editing
* Software administration, software implementation, software configuration
* Operational experience with Motorola, Scientific Atlanta, Concurrent VOD, SeaChange VOD, and Tandberg systems
* SQL Database reporting knowledge
* Ability to work overtime, as needed.
