TITLE: Director / Snr Staff -- Digital Video Strategic Planning / Technology  Marketing
* FOCUS-AREA REQUIREMENTS (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY):
-> CANDIDATES MUST HAVE SIGNIFICANT TECHNOLOGY AND BUSINESS EXPERTISE IN DIGITAL VIDEO SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT IP VIDEO, VOIP, orOTHER BROADBAND MEDIA APPLICATIONS.  EXPERTISE IN CABLE OR HFC SYSTEMS IS A MAJOR PLUS.  PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THIS EXPERIENCE

NOTE: Two positions exist -- a Director and a Senior Staff Contributor.  They key difference is the Director has greater people and project management responsibilities.

* POSITION DUTIES (applies to both roles, except Director has much greater people and project management responsibilities):


1. Develop, manage or perform projects that investigate new technologies for the purpose of strategic or competitive research.

2. Develop business plans and tools to evaluating network architectures, consumer devices and economic issues (capital costs and expenses) associated with the implementation of new digital video services.

3. Provide competitive assessments of emerging technological and business developments

4. Assess new technologuy developments and identify / assess new business opportunities.

* REQUIREMENTS (applies to both roles, except Director requires much greater people and project management experience):

• A technical degree (BS or MS / PhD ) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications degree


• Business experience and experience developing business plans / forecasts and economic projections.  An MBA is highly desireable


• Broad knowledge of data and video services. Experience in assessing new opportunities from technical, business and regulatory perspectives.

• Excellent interpersonal, communications.  Ability to prepare concise impactful presentations.

• The Director role requires people and major project management experience -- as well as experience guiding the directiopn of new product developpment.


* TYPICAL CANDIDATE: A typical candidate will be a Directopr or Senior product marketing por product planning professional with deep experience and expertise in the digital video space.  In addition, the candidate will have a technology base with additional business experience (BSEE / BSCS or higher and MBA is ideal)
