Direct Sales Associate
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: This position generally reports to the Direct Sales Supervisor.
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
The purpose of this position is to sell cable television services in-person to potential subscribers and to sell upgrade services to existing subscribers.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Canvases assigned sales territory and solicit orders for new upgraded cable services.
2. Completes customer orders and weekly sales activity reports.
3. Attends all sales training and department meetings.
4. May give presentations to small groups of people interested in cable television services.
5. May collect customer payments for initial services and collect regular and nonpayment accounts.
6. Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Education:
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Sales or customer service experience is preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
1. Persuasive written and verbal communications.
2. Thorough knowledge of city and map reading, cable product, programming choices and prices, and basic mathematics.
3. Ability to travel door-to-door, and handle face-to-face sales issues and challenges.
MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT USED:
1. Computers and telephones.
2. Own vehicle with valid driver’s license.
3. Various office computer supplies: floppy disks, computers, papers, ribbon, etc.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF JOB:
1. Walking for long periods of time.
2. Communicating in person with general public.
3. May use telephone to contact customers.
