Now, let’s talk about you. Do you have a BS/BA in an equivalent field, expertise with MSSQL and Oracle database implementations and maintenance and experience with applied SDLC and Change Management practice?  If so, you owe it to yourself to explore this exciting opportunity to join Switch and Data.  If you are our successful candidate, you will assume responsibility for:

•Administering and controlling the organization's data resources including multiple relational
 databases and servers.
•Performing physical database design, works with systems administrators and uses data
 dictionary software packages to ensure data integrity and security.
•Using tuning tools to improve database performance.
•Working with the applications development team, focusing on the back-end portion of data
 storage and performance considerations (sizing) for application systems being developed.

Sound good so far? Great. Here are some other specific duties the Database Administrator will perform:

•Support system/application installations.
•Administer, maintain, develop and implement policies and procedures for ensuring the security
 and integrity of company databases.
•Implement data models and database designs, data access and table maintenance codes.
•Resolve database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other
 distributed data issues.
•Perform any of the following SDLC functions: review, analysis, design, development,
 implementation, and support.
•Establish physical data base parameter.

One more thing:  If you have DBA certification as well as the other qualifications mentioned and are familiar with ASP.NET 2.0, Java/J2EE, you’ve already got one foot in the door!
