Data Communications Technician

We provide on schedule, within budget technology installation and maintenance services to specialty retail stores, quick-service restaurants, supermarkets, hospitality and financial institutions. 

 

We have immediate openings for experienced data communication technicians across the country.  The ideal candidates would have experience in installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting low voltage cable systems (e.g. cat 3, 5e, & 6 twisted pair, optical fiber, OSP cable, coax, etc.) and installation/configuration of POS/data equipment.  Typical tasks include:

 Cabling rough-in and termination (all media types) Cabling testing and documentation (all media types) Build-out of MDF and IDF (racks, patch panels, wire managers, network electronics, etc.) Installation and on-site configuration/setup of equipment including POS terminals/equipment, CCTV, computer terminals, stereo systems, VCR’s, televisions, people (traffic) counters, wireless RF units (e.g. WiFi AP’s, etc.), and anchoring safes in concrete.

 

Required skills/certifications:

 Minimum 3 years experience in a lead tech role Verifiable experience with all media types and the installation of structured cabling systems Basic PC configuration skills (setting IP addresses, pinging equipment, circuit testing, etc.) Strong PC software skills (Microsoft Office suite, e-mail, remote network access, etc.) BICSI Technician certification highly desirable
