Cox Business Sr. Project Manager Northern, VA Description:The CB Senior Project Manager will manage the development and implementation of Cox Business projects to meet business initiatives, improve processes and other strategies and objectives. The primary focus is to provide end-to-end product installation oversight from point of contract signature through all phases of customer product delivery. Responsibilities include documentation of project scope, defining project schedule, partnering with functional managers for resources, providing direction to and coordinating between functional area leaders, reporting progress and issues on a weekly basis. This position will also analyze existing project management methods to promote effective operations through standardization, improvement, simplification, or other methods. Conducts risk assessments, facilitates communication across operational groups, and ensures compliance with the defined process and/or implementation. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following and other duties as assigned. Works with both clients and sales staff and is primarily responsible for the successful delivery of projects on time, to budget, and within scope/quality. Determine the required cross functional staff and resources needed to effectively complete projects. Understands and clearly defines the scope of assigned projects. Tracks projects against the plan and adjusts schedules accordingly ensuring to notify all key stakeholders. Communicate regularly with project team, customer, functional managers, and all key stakeholders to ensure all are apprised of the project status, issues impeding progress, and recovery plans for off-track items/tasks. Establish and maintain an assessment of risk throughout the duration of the project. Manage and motivate project team members to higher performance. Hold functional areas accountable for completion of project task and actions items. Proactively ensures progress of the project by meeting with functional area managers to check for understanding and clarify project scope as needed. Facilitates effective communications within the project team by using a variety of communication methods (email, meetings, conference calls, and one on one discussions) Assist in the development of workflow process as required. Contribute to the ongoing improvement of CB project management methodology and process flows. Stays current on technology and industry trends. Support strategic planning and sales initiatives.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES and Sphere of Influence:Responsible for functional and timeline success, by effectively leading cross-functional teams. A Project Manager is responsible for project teams of varying sizes, with a typical duration of 45-60 days.Qualifications:QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 5-10 years of relevant project management experienced required 3-5 years experience project managing a variety of business services projects at all levels. Relevant experience delivering facilities based telecommunications services desired Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or extensive experience using a PMI based project management methodology strongly desired. Bachelor of Science/Arts degree or equivalent work experience required Experience managing projects for internal and external customers and developing effective customer relationships 2 -3 years previously worked in a commercial business cervices fast paced environment highly desired. Experience leading both direct reports and matrixed team membersLANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read analyzes and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
