The Corporate Systems Engineer provides technical marketing support for the Enterprise Business Unit’s (EBU) product lines. The successful candidate will play a critical technical role in the product management team partnering with Product Marketing Managers to support new H/W & S/W projects as well as released products. You will be working closely with sales and other internal departments, performing a highly valued role as the technical expert on the Enterprise Business Unit’s product lines and associated networking applications. This role is an excellent entry position for an engineer who is interested in moving into Marketing.


Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Responsible for competitive analysis and bake-offs, partner solution interoperability support, 3rd party testing coordination, solution testing and validation, trade show participation as well as, sales support activities including technical presentations, technical webinars, customer demonstrations and presentations.
Collaborate with Product Marketing Managers to develop sales tools, application notes, white papers, collateral, competitive analysis for external use with customers
Candidate must be knowledgeable in IP, Ethernet, routing/switching protocols, network management and wireless LAN. Hands-on experience with test equipment from vendors such as Ixia and Spirent is highly valuable.
Closely work with product marketing, engineering, quality assurance and sales, performing a highly valued role as the technical expert on the EBU’s product lines and associated networking applications.
Collaborate with Product Marketing Managers in conducting analysis of technology trends
Run alpha/beta programs, capture early customer feedback and work with alpha/beta sites to generate customer success stories
This position requires some travel (~ 1-3 days per month).

Experience and Education

BS-5-9 years or MS-3-5 years of experience in Engineering, Quality
Assurance, EE, Product Marketing Engineer or related field, and/or the equivalent work experience in related field.
Minimum of 5 years networking industry experience.
Strong technical background and understanding of Ethernet switching, routers, IP and wireless protocols.
Thorough knowledge of networking technologies, protocols, services and applications including Ethernet, IPv4, IPv6, VPNs, ACLs, QoS, SNMP, and VoIP.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience delivering customer presentation and developing white papers / application notes.
Due to the complex and dynamic nature of the enterprise routing and switching space, the candidate must have a keen technical mind capable of quickly grasping new technologies.
Proficiency in: word processing, simple accounting, spreadsheets, MS Project
