Global Connection, Inc. is a leading direct marketer of prepaid telecommunications services throughout the United States.  Global’s Controller position offers an exciting opportunity for someone to be a key member of our management team.

 

 





Position Objective

 

The Controller is an integral role that will interface with various members of the management team.  The Controller will ensure the integrity of financial reporting systems and establish and implement accounting policies and procedures that conform to generally accepted accounting principles.  The Controller’s primary goals will be to maintain and manage the financial planning, financial reporting and internal control systems and the purchasing, treasury management and budget management functions.

 Duties & Responsibilities

 

Responsible for preparing the annual operating budget, monthly forecasts and capital budget Manage and train appropriate financial staff to ensure accounting records and financial reporting is prompt, accurate, and meets business requirements. Maintain accounting department’s financial reporting systems. Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable and cost accounting functions within the accounting department.  Completion of monthly financial accounting close Develop and maintain a Financial Policies and Procedures Manual that documents the financial procedures and controls. Coordinate the annual financial audit ensuring that all client prepared schedules are completed timely and accurately. Prepare supporting schedules and information used in the federal and state tax returns. Ensure monthly sales and use tax and other  statutory returns are prepared, reviewed and submitted on a timely basis Ensure account reconciliations are properly and promptly completed. Complete performance reviews on direct reports. Team with information technology personnel to assure appropriate systems are in place to track and model all financial data for business management purposes. Other duties as directed by the Chief Financial Officer

 



Qualifications and experience

  Bachelors degree or higher in accounting or finance Minimum 10 years experience in all aspects of accounting Proven supervisory experience Analytical/problem solving –ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems in a timely manner Management/communication skills Planning/organizing –prioritize and plan work activities, uses time efficiently and develops realistic action plans Excellent computer skills. Strong knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, QuickBooks CPA a plus
