Communication Technician 4-6 (Atlanta, Georgia)

Under limited supervision the Network Comm Tech 4 will perform routine troubleshooting calls, surveys, locates, outage repair, on-call duty, shift work, track/repair CLI, power supply maintenance, and construction maintenance in accordance with company procedures and practices. The Network Comm Tech 4 could be called upon to troubleshoot and resolve service failures related to any Comcast product, to include but not be limited to Video (analog and digital), Comcast Digital Voice (CDV), and Comcast High Speed Data (CHSI) (including Home Networking and Home Plug.) This position will perform applicable CT1 through CT3 duties as required. Perform routine troubleshooting calls: troubleshoot the plant through the distribution cable to the node in order to restore customer video, CHSI or CDV as required. Survey the plant in order to ensure service availability to potential customers. Perform underground location of existing plant using system prints and cable locating equipment in order to prevent cable damage and service interruption. Respond to and repair service interruptions during regular business hours, shift work or when on-call is required. Perform CLI ride-out and track and repair leakage, as necessary. Perform construction maintenance duties, which require the ability to splice aerial/underground coaxial cable and equipment to restore cable plant to system specifications. Splice and activate new coaxial plant as required. Repair and/or replace damaged aerial/underground plant. Inspect, repair and/or replace power supplies as necessary. Pre-wire single dwelling units and multiple dwelling units (MDUs) in order to provide ready hook-up capabilities at the time of occupancy. Daily activities also include maintenance of vehicle and equipment, job-related paperwork and other duties as requested by supervisor. Punctual, regular and consistent attendance is required.

Training or Certifications Required:
Minimum of 4 years technical experience as Service Technician or comparable experience with experience servicing Customer's premises up to the headend
Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
Defensive Driving course
QIP Certification
Certifications in Installer, Installer Tech, Service Tech, Chief Tech preferred

Must be able to work flexible hours and schedules and be available for overtime with limited notice. Evening and/or weekend work required, on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
