Cable Installer II

Position Title:   Installer II --Raleigh, North Carolina Office  (2 Positions) 

 Position Responsibilities

Responsible for the on-site work activities of installation projects at NET100’s Raleigh, North Carolina branch office including, but not limited to:

·  Performing as direct liaison between NET100 and clientele; communicate changes and results to NET100 management;

·  Communicating performance reports (job status) to Branch Manager and Sr. Installation Supervisor on a daily basis;

·  Terminating and test copper cable (Cat-5 through Cat-6) and optical fiber;

·  Performing installation procedures for copper and fiber placement;

·  Performing installation for outside plant systems;

·  Installing communication outlets in floors, walls, and utility poles;

·  Mounting equipment racks, termination hardware, and lace frame;

·  Building telecommunication closets and performing Firestop installations;

·  Monitoring progress throughout job for quality, manpower, and deadline management;

·  Adhering to all safety procedures and standards; communicate and enforce all company mandates and policies;

·  Other duties as assigned.

 Position Requirements

·  Minimum of three years experience pulling, terminating, splicing, installing, testing, and troubleshooting category 5 through 6 copper cabling and/or fiber optic cabling;

·  Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

·  Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record;

·  Adherence to regular attendance and normal scheduled hours. Willingness to work overtime, often on short notice.  Must be willing to work a flexible schedule determined by client site requirements i.e. early mornings and/or evening hours;

·  Ability to lift objects and carry up to 50 pounds;

·  Ability to work unsupervised and with little or no technical assistance;

·  Direct knowledge of the proper use of tools to install and test small to medium cable in conduit systems;

·  Familiarity with project floorplan(s) and blueprints;

·  Ability to prioritize and delegate job responsibilities in order to meet contract deadlines;

·  Professional, team-oriented work ethic; ability to see the “big pictureâ€�;

·  High school diploma or equivalent; BICSI Installer II Registration desirable.

·  Adherence to all required safety standards;

·  Learn and apply knowledge of Universal color codes;

·  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers;

·  Excellent customer service skills.
