Job Title: Cable Installer

 

Job summary

Perform Cable, Internet and Phone Installations for residential customers.

Experienced or will train.



Duties and Responsibilities

·         Perform new connects, reconnects, upgrades and downgrades.

·         Install and relocate outlets.

·         Install or remove converters and cable modems.

·         Install interior and exterior wiring.

·         Connect peripheral equipment.

·         Educate customers on proper use of equipment

·         Assure proper signal levels and picture quality.

·         Provide superior customer service.

·         Complete all tasks to GEM Communications and Time Warner standards.

·         Represent Gem Communications in a competent and professional manner to all customers, associates and outside organizations.

·         Maintain professional appearance and behavior at all times.

·         Maintain excellent attendance.

·         Responsible for motor vehicle per company policy including equipment & tool inventory, vehicle security and vehicle maintenance.

·         Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

·         Must pass drug/background check.

·         Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.

·         Ability to work flexible hours as required, including evenings, weekends and on-call shifts.

·         High school diploma or equivalent.

·         Basic computer skills are preferred, including internet and e-mail.

Physical Requirements

·         Ability to carry, climb and operate a 28’ extension ladder.

·         Ability to carry tools and equipment.

·         Ability to perform work in elevated places (roofs and utility poles)

·         Ability to use drills, hammers, wrenches and other basic hand tools.

·         Ability to lift up to 90 pounds.

·         Ability to drive company vehicles in a safe manner.
