Business Development Mgr.- Alternative Energy/Generation

AFL Telecommunications, a leading manufacturing and services company is actively seeking a Business Development Manager- Alternative Energy/Generation to Lead AFL’s efforts to grow sales of all AFL products into the North American Alternative Energy & Generation market. This position does not require relocation.

The business development manager will help coordinate and develop additional sales and marketing effort for the wind, solar and primary generation market. This person will develop an understanding of the key alternative energy developers, contractors, suppliers and packagers to better position AFL to engage in this market more effectively. This manager will define product requirements, market demand, and create financial justifications for programs and initiatives within this customer base that can lead to maximum sales of AFL Telecommunications’ product solutions. Additionally, this individual will be tasked with helping AFL marketing create a brand identity within the Alternative Energy market through our overall product package. The position will work in conjunction with AFL’s Utility Sales team in an effort to close business at said targeted accounts.

Conduct sales calls with a variety of alternative energy developers, contractors, suppliers and packagers, as well as generation facilities to specify and sell all AFL products and services. Depending on the customer type and the level of previous interaction, the business development manager will provide technical and marketing support for sales.

Work in conjunction with AFL marketing to create a brand identity within the Alternative Energy market through our overall product package.

Provide technical and marketing support for the Utility sales team into this market.

Define any product development opportunities as needed to grow business in this market.

Maintain sufficient knowledge of strategic customer’s business to recognize opportunities and be perceived by the customer as a problem solver and cost displacement specialist.

Qualifications and Requirements

BS/BA degree required

Candidate must have 5-8 years of work experience with 3-5 years of solid alternative energy/generation selling experience

2+ years of commercial experience with significant customer interface.

Knowledge of key alternative energy developers, contractors, suppliers and packagers to better position AFL to engage in this market more effectively

Good understanding of the base technology and emerging trends in the Alternative Energy/Generation market.

Knowledge of sales tactics as it pertains to account development within a growing and evolving market
