AVAYA SYSTEMS ENGINEER

Daycom Systems, Inc., is a premier provider of practical and effective communications solutions since 1992, including cutting edge voice and data integration.  We are currently seeking an experienced Avaya Systems Engineer for our office in Bentonville, Arkansas.

This experienced Engineer will work with a team of highly skilled engineers and technicians to install and service new and existing telecom systems for our clients.

 

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for design, implementation, and support of complex voice communication systems. Performs engineering design evaluations. Recommends alterations to designs to improve quality of products and/or procedures. Provide system engineering services for projects.  Install, repairs and troubleshoots Daycom maintained and installed systems based on policy and procedures, and timelines in a professional manner.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Systems design, implementation and support. Installs, troubleshoots, repairs and maintains telecommunications and data systems. Tier III support for Field Technicians. Coordinates and supports work tasks related to installations, maintenance and moves, adds and changes.  Escalates tasks to vendors and manages the process through successful completion.  Utilizes Daycom system tools and processes to track problem resolution, installations and changes from inception to completion.  Assesses customer requirements where appropriate and recommends appropriate solutions. Creates and maintain documentation related to installation, maintenance and moves, adds and changes.  Process work requests meeting deliverables as specified by Daycom.  Provide system administration and coordination for the planning, deployment and support of telecommunications systems to include phone switches/PBX, ACD, NICE Recording, Voice Mail, Voice over IP, video conferencing, and IP telephony, as well as insure proper maintenance of management tools, system documentation, and disaster recovery procedures. Interfaces with both internal and external personnel at all levels of the organizations.  Comply with company policies.  Off-shifting and overtime work may be required. Additional duties as assigned.

 KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES/EXPERIENCE

  7-8 years experience in PSTN, PBX and voice mail systems, AES Servers, IP Trunking, IP Phone Deployment, IP Telephony, ACD, Call Center support, etc.  Avaya S8xx0 installation and support experience required. 3+ years data networking experience with emphasis in VOIP and IP Telephony. Avaya Certified Expert (ACE), at a minimum Avaya Certified Specialist (ACS) Implementation and Support for IP Telephony CCNA preferred. Switch and router basic administration. Experience in a campus or metropolitan environment required. Ability to multi-task and manage conflicting priorities Experience with multiple manufacturers is preferred (Avaya, Cisco, etc.) Call Center reporting experience is a plus (CMS, Genesys, etc.) Strong interpersonal skills, and be flexible in a dynamic team environment. Ability to multi-task Ability to relate complex material in less technical environment. Good verbal and written communication skills.
