Accounts Receivable Rep. - Silver Spring, MD

Position Summary:
Perform complex and diverse clerical and administrative duties in support of the functional unit to which assigned. Work relates judgment in the selection and interpretation of data.

Requirements:
- Retrieve and analyze online bank statement information daily and confirm deposits.
- Download daily billing system reports.
- Reconcile front counter, Credit card, Lockbox, Ebox, Speedpay and EFTS customer deposits to the billing system for the TriCounty systems.
- Review and resolve payment exceptions.
- Contact banks when necessary.
- Work closely with Front counter and Support Services to ensure items are researched and variances explained.
- Perform Daily, Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly balancing of monthly deposit record/ reconciliations.
- Enter bank and billing system information into Corporate approved spreadsheet
- Complete Monthly Deposit reconciliations before monthly and quarterly deadlines.
- Reconcile customer credit card charge backs
- Respond to reconciling items identified on the monthly cash reconciliation.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or the recognized equivalent
- Minimum 2 years Cash Handling or Reconciliation Experience
- Ability to work overtime, as needed. Strong attention to detail and proficient analytical skills
- Must have recent working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Windows applications
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Demonstrated proficiency in math and some accounting knowledge preferred
- Familiarity with the Cable Data billing system a plus
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
