Web Technology Specialist
Leadership responsibility to coordinate the development and implementation of web programs and strategies to improve online service to our customers. Candidate must be a team player and able to work and communicate in a corporate environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but not limited too:
1. Identify and/or analyze business problems and devise procedures for online solutions to the problems.
2. Effectively lead projects/teams in order to produce desired results and outcomes.
3. Responsible for corporate communication of project results.
4. Recommend and assist with implementing standard policies and procedures for providing routine online services.
5. Assure that corporate compliance is communicated, implemented and monitored on an ongoing basis in the area of web applications.
6. Participate in systems testing, develop procedures/controls and provide recommendations for the ongoing improvement of online processes.
7. Develop and maintain an effective working relationship with customers both internal and external.
8. Continual front end enhancements and maintenance to corporate web sites and intranet sites manager by Corporate eBusiness Area.
9. Prototype, mock-up, and create development ready client-side code for applications that get built for bcbsm.com and MiBCN.com
10. Consulting for the creation of new sites and applications
11. Member of the Quality Assessment Team for checking changes before uploading to the corporate web site and intranet sites
12. Consulting partner for CeB to IS on emerging technology initiatives.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
1. Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred.
2. Usability Certification preferred.
3. Four (4) to seven (7) years experience in related web field or web designer role.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
1. Ability to plan, organize, direct and control projects as the project lead.
2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
3. Ability to lead and contribute to process improvement projects involving online applications and online tasks.
4. Strong proficiency in most of the following: HTML, XML, XSL, Javascript, CSS, Macromedia Dreamweaver, Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Project.
5. Strong design and creative skills to create and manipulate graphics using Fireworks and/or Photoshop applications.
6. Design web sites and applications based on user-centric design principles.
7. Architects, designs, codes, tests and maintains server-side applications using Cold Fusion and SQL.
8. Manages work using our contact management, project management, and time tracking systems.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
1. Conducts web site usability evaluations. Ability to apply heuristic evaluation methods, accessibility standards, measure against competitor benchmarking, and apply corporate and web style guide standards.
2. Partners and consults with internal clients’ on their needs for site design, development followed by the creation of entire sites from conceptualization to site launch. This can include but not limited to gathering and developing business requirements, consulting to ensure user-friendly architecture, prototyping, web authoring, and effective time management skills.
3. Ensures that corporate objectives are being met, make recommendations/take action as to how the web can impact and improve the bottom line.
4. Actively seeks and educates others on emerging technical and business skills.
