Senior Design-Build Project Manager Family Focused! ESSENTIAL PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:This position is responsible for leading and organizing the collaborative design teams to achieve the desired business results, including, but not limited to: Leads cross-functional design teams Builds trust Provides essential leadership for the development and implementation of effective designs that meet the client's needs in support of our mission Leads the process of defining and identifying the project stakeholders and their requirements Manages the entire design phase by integrating the services offered by Estimating, Field Operations, Architects, Consultants, Contract Administration, Quality, and Subcontractors, in order to ensure effective, achievable, and cost-effective results Uses a very collaborative style of management Develops and manages Consultant and Subcontractor agreements throughout the design phase Defines the project goals based on the company's vision, stakeholder requirements, and input from the company's CEO and COOUnderstands the corporate strategy and goals behind each design proposal and ensures that the team's expectations and project goals are in alignment Provides coaching and training for design team members on design process and improvements, and incorporates technology to enhance processes for stronger execution Leads the execution of the company's design/build process innovation Responsible for good customer relations and managing customer expectations during the design phase, to enhance and solidify favorable customer evaluations at the conclusion of the design phase Provides technical support to the Proposal Team BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE: 4-year degree or equivalent experience required. Construction Management, Engineering, or Architectural degree preferred. 5+ years of project management experience with a track record of success Results-driven track record of leadership, motivation, organization, and collaboration Understands the engineer to order environment Computer literate (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) COMPETENCIES: Planning: Able to assess and develop plans, including short-term and long-term goals, resulting in measurable achievement. Able to develop achievable plans that align project goals with corporate strategic goals. Excellent critical thinker with strategic project goals always in his/her mind. Articulate: Very capable in both speaking and writing the language of the construction business. An able presenter poised under pressure is preferred. Customer Focus: Establishes confidence and trust with customers. Dedicated to meeting customer's needs Critical Thinking : Deals comfortably with concepts and complexity. Sees past the surface issues to the significant elements of the situation. Develops and introduces ideas to improve business processes, and meet the challenge. Inspires Others: Marshals peers, subordinates, and others to achieve established goals. Exercises leadership and persuasive skills regarding nearly all activities. Delegation: Understands the vital factors leading to his/her success and delegates to others those activities that use up the design/build managers' time not related to the vital few. Empowers employees appropriately and has excellent follow-up and follow through to verify that delegated work is accomplished. Situational Leadership: Knows when to be the leader and when to delegate leadership in team situations. Problem Solving: Comfortable in allowing others to be the author of solutions. Sees their value as implementing processes that come up with the best solutions to problems, given the constraints of time and money. Requires basic office work, including sitting, walking, climbing stairs, kneeling, bending, and operating office equipment that is hand operated. Requires accurate visual acuity.
