Sr Oracle DBA

Job Description:Responsible for the complete process of infrastructure design and operations, including systems analysis and maintenance, security, network operations and support, and systems configuration. Infrastructure includes hardware, operation systems, database management systems, network and security. Also conducts end-to-end plan design, controls production, and implements and monitors systems. Maintains production databases to ensure integrity, performance, accessibility, and recoverability of data. Develops long-term strategy for historical data retention and archival plan for storage needs; defines data retention, backup, and recovery. Coordinates with Development to ensure that implementations regarding network and infrastructure security across CCI are fully understood and leveragable. Develops corporate-wide standards to ensure compatibility and integration of multi-vendor platforms. Required Skills: Linux, Oracle 10g, Oracle RAC, UNIX (Sun Solaris). Oracle Partitioning, Linux, UNIX (Sun Solaris), Oracle RAC Additional Skills: Oracle ASM and Oracle ASMLIB 1-Develops, packages and automates distribution of installation executable software and related software on target machines; 2-Performs software deployment tool administration (e.g., SMS) to include site administration, site performance and log file measurements, manages SMS inventory collections, manages query functions and server maintenance, to include writing SQL statements for SQL queries; 3-Performs administration on both the deployed configuration management tools; 4-Creates job scheduling; works with developers and command center staff to create, configure and troubleshoot mid tier job scheduling jobs as well as required to run with the scheduling tool; 5-Monitors and resolves any problems that may arise from the distribution or installation to include expertise in connections; 6-Maintains data dictionaries and ensures integration of systems through data design; 7-Performs quality control and auditing of databases to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data; 8-Troubleshoots and tunes data warehouse applications for system and performance problems; identifies and resolves information flow, content issues, and transformation of business requirements into logical data models; 9-At higher levels, may provide functional guidance, advice, and/or training to less-experienced administrators. 10-The senior level position acts as project manager in planning and directing multiple projects to coordinate software applications from the development environment to staging environment through the build process and ultimately migration to production

Typical Training / Experience - Typically requires BS/BA in related discipline; Generally 5-8 years of experience in related field. Certification is required in some areas OR MS/MA and generally 3-5 years of experience in related field. Certification required in some areas
