Sr. JAVA/J2EE Developer
Re-engineer a government agency's Emergency Operation System to create a robust agency wide infrastructure with centralized technical support and streamlined applications and technology. Features of the system include a virtual community, seamless access to emergency documents and information, a repository for emergency response plans, repository of documents, forms and report templates and a virtual collaboration and meeting space. This system provides the capability for managing Business Process and Workflow via automation using COTS products, i.e. JIRA, LiveLink, ESRI ArcGIS and some custom applications.
Must have skills/knowledge/experience
Java/J2EE development skills, JSP, Java Web services, XML, Portal Development
Object Oriented Analysis
Experience with one or more of the following: Framework, Struts, Hibernate, Spring, Tapestry
Experience managing multiple code bases concurrently
Experience with 508 Compliance
Preferred Skills - One or more of the following:
Google Earth (KML & KMZ compliant data)
ESRI (ArcGIS suite), GIS/Mapping
Authentication and authorization experience
Identity Management
Configuration Management Tools (PVCS, Subversion)
Strong knowledge/experience in formal SDLC methodology
Experience with CMMI Level 3 or higher
Education/Experience
BS/BA in appropriate field or equivalent training and experience
-Minimum 6-8 years general IT experience
-Minimum 5+ years hands-on JAVA development experience with up to date programming skills in JAVA and JSP
Major Responsibilities/Activities:
Design, develop, test and implement enhancements to a mission critical application system utilized for emergency operations. Develop system enhancements as outlined in the requirements document using Java, J2EE and web related technologies. Additional responsibilities may include GIS/Mapping interactivity, usability, accessibility and performance. Data layering and enhance map generation.
