Sr. Human Resources Generalist - Boston, MA

The Senior Human Resources Generalist will advise and lead the implementation and management of policies and procedures in the areas of: recruiting, wage and salary administration, benefits, staffing and employee relations. The Sr. Human Resources Generalist will also accurately identify procedural problem areas and develop proactive solutions, including initiating, researching, and completing all HR projects and programs for one or more functional areas within HR.

Responsibilities:

 Administers all benefits including health, retiree health, dental, life/ad&d, flexible spending plans, pre-tax qualified transportation plan, 401k, employee pension plan and tuition reimbursement. Sources and recruits for exempt and non-exempt positions, following the established recruiting procedures. Coordinates interviews, facilitates background checks with vendor, and extends offers of employment. Serves as project leader for programs and activities such as service award presentations, employee appreciation events, and holiday luncheon.Provides guidance and training for supervisors on HR processes such as annual and six month salary and performance reviews, job descriptions and performance review standards. Maintains performance review documents by position and updates them as necessary.Produces HR communications including but not limited to open enrollment and changes to policies/procedures. Oversees employee leaves of absence and time off including FMLA, MMLA and handles any employee workers’ compensation claims. Maintains all employee files, other HR files, and employment law posters.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

 Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources, Business or related area. 5 years of solid generalist experience required. Knowledge of policies and procedures regarding recruiting, benefits, compensation and employee relations. Demonstrated time and project management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills essential. Proficiency in computer applications required, including MS Office. HRIS and ADP Payroll experience a plus.
