Specials Engineer
SPECIALS ENGINEER PRIMARY FUNCTION / SUMMARY Processes requests for quotes and orders for non-standard product. Assures accuracy of engineering of non-standard product. Supplies technical assistance as required providing viable solutions or alternatives to inquiries from customers and sales representatives. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Conducts research and analysis of feasibility of product requests to determine if and how they can be produced in accordance with Company and industry standards. Responds within established time guidelines. • Produces accurate drawings (manufacturing floor ready) using MICRO-CAD system. • Creates special bill of materials and assures accuracy of both bill of materials and routings. • Maintains high degree of product knowledge. • Assists other departments with non-standard product issues. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS ? Degree in Manufacturing Engineering required with experience in manufacturing preferred. ? Knowledge of CAD and computerized spreadsheets. ? Comprehensive knowledge of engineering technology applicable to a manufacturing environment. ? Ability to work both independently and as part of a team ? Ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently. ?Self motivated with ability to work under pressure and act decisively. ?Experience using Pro-E helpful TYPE AND DEGREE OF COMMUNICATION SKILLS ? Regular contact with various internal departments ? Less frequent but regular contact with field, dealers and end-users. ? High degree of interpersonal skills exhibiting good customer relations attitude. ? Ability to communicate with technical information to non-technical people.
