Sen. Linux (RedHat) Systems Administration

As a member of a team reporting to the Technical Services Manager, utilize Linux administration skills to maintain and upgrade the client’s server infrastructure as well as provide 24x7 system support. Support critical systems within the Infrastructure & Operations division of this large global supplier of medical equipment and supplies.

Project/Product Description:

As a team member, provide production and development support for the installed Linux infrastructure. Provide flawless support and prompt response to unscheduled events that impact the production server environment.

Requirements:

7+ years experience with Linux Operating (RedHat) support in an enterprise environment.

Experience designing and supporting Linux in high availability environments.

VMWare, Tomcat, Apache experience.

Ability to configure, install and troubleshoot hardware, OS, & third party software.

PERL or Shell scripting.

Ability to work individually and as a team member.

Ability to support on call for production support and scheduled off-hours /weekend work.

Good oral and written communication skills

Candidate must be self-sufficient and able to work in fast-paced environment.

BS Degree - CompSci, EE, CompEng preferred.

Optional Skills:

Solaris/HPUX OS support

IBM storage experience.

General Understanding of UNIX and Network Security.
