SQL DBA with "package" ERP application software
Location: Addison, TX

MS SQL Server Database Administrator for “package” ERP application software (Mid-Sr. level)
Database Administration and support responsibility for “packaged” applications software ERP or Supply Chain software packages, specifically desires JD Edwards One World experience, but acceptable packages such as PeopleSoft and Hyperion a plus.
SPECIFIC SKILL SETS REQUIREMENTS:
3+ years Database Administration experience, primarily SQL 2000 and SQL 2005, including
· Proficient with SQL Server Client and Administrative tools
· Proficient writing, maintaining and optimizing Transact SQL
· MS SQL Server installation, configuration and tuning
· MS SQL Server database Backup/Recovery
· MS SQL Server database security administration
· MS SQL Server administration on Microsoft Clustering Services
· Experience implementing and maintaining physical data models, inclusive of RI, unique, and check constraints
· Capable of providing 7x24 on-call database support and troubleshooting
· Willing to occasionally, and temporarily, work alternate shifts in support of international locations, and the mission critical MS SQL Server installations within them.
Candidate must possess excellent relationship building and communication skills.
SPECIFIC SKILL SETS DESIRED, BUT NOT NECESSARILY REQUIRED:
· Database Administration and support responsibility for “packaged” application software ERP or Supply Chain software packages (preferably JD Edwards OneWorld, but PeopleSoft and Hyperion experience also a plus).
· Installation, configuration and support of SQL Server Reporting Services, Analysis Services, Distributed Transaction Services, Integration Services and Service Broker
· Experience as a developer using Microsoft tools (C#/.Net) and SQL Server at the data tier
· Experience as a Windows Systems Administrator (Windows 2000 and 2003)
· DBA experience with an RDBMS other than MS SQL Server (Oracle DBA experience a plus)
· Experience coordinating the technical tasks required to accomplish a major software upgrade, hardware replacement, or disaster recovery exercise for mission critical MS SQL Server systems.
· Experience constructing and maintaining logical data models and entity relationship diagrams
· Experience working with source control software such as TFS, Visual Source Safe or Vault
· Quality Assurance testing, change management.
WHAT EXACTLY WILL THIS INDIVIDUAL BE WORKING ON?
· Performs daily task of researching alerts and system events.
· Performs backups and restores as requested by the customer.
· Works with customer to tune and optimize the database and query ecosystem
· Serves as first point of escalation for database related problems
· Responds to and resolves all customer requests such as code reviews, publishing, and problem resolution
· Facilitates database change management and security
· Ensures compliance with Service Level agreements as well as with standards policies and procedures
· Will be assigned a specific subject matter on which to focus, within the responsibilities of the team, aligned with demonstrated skills and technical goals.
· Authoring and maintaining technical documentation, standards and procedures, and architectural diagrams. Creating presentations and writing business justifications to support technical recommendations.
EDUCATION DESIRED:
BS or BA with an emphasis on Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
CERTIFICATION(S) DESIRED: Microsoft DBA Certification
FOREIGN LANGUAGE(S) REQUIRED OR DESIRED: German, Mandarin, Russian, or Spanish may be beneficial for future projects.
Occasional travel to International subsidiaries for installation, upgrade and support tasks, as well as travel to training opportunities may be required, but should not exceed 2 weeks per year.
