Research Chemist III

Leading Generic Drug Manufacturer seeks a skilled individual for the position of Research Chemist III.



JOB DESCRIPTION:

Performs qualitative and quantitative analyses of organic, inorganic compounds, or biologics to determine chemical and physical properties during chemical syntheses, fermentation or drug product development process by verifying their identity, purity, and homogeneity. Ascertains relationships between molecular structure and physical or biological properties to aid in analysis of compounds and molecules. Conducts research to develop or improve analytical techniques, methodology, procedures, and investigates application of instruments in analysis. Organizes and interprets all data obtained using a wide variety of instrumental technologies. Provides quality control specifications to ensure process consistency, quality, and optimal yield performance. Conducts measurements of compounds in biological environments and fluids. May also investigate dosage forms of the new drugs or biological molecules to verify their identity, potency, and pharmaceutical or biological properties. RESPONSIBILITES:

Develops analytical methods by using multiple techniques for RM and FP.

Leads multiple reformulation research studies.

Selects techniques and methodologies and provides direction to less experienced staff in conduct of multiple analytical chemistry studies. Develops analytical methods by using multiple techniques for Raw Materials and Finished Products. Leads multiple reformulation research studies.

Selects techniques and methodologies and provides direction to less experienced staff in conduct of multiple analytical chemistry studies. Assists in training new hires, in pre-approved inspections, and technology transfer. Implements new techniques and updates SOPs in accordance with new guidelines. Reviews findings, results of projects and resolves problems which could impact an entire business area.



EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

BS, MS, or PhD, Chemistry, or other scientifically related field and 5+ years experience as an analytical chemist.
