Production Engineer

This large company is an independent oil and gas organization that is focused on the acquisition, exploitation, and development of oil and gas properties. Most of the properties have been producing for more than 70 years and one field has been producing for over 100 years.  All qualified candidates must have on shore/offshore experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·         With limited review, handle production engineering assignments of varied scope and complexity

·         Assure that producing properties operate at a maximum economic rate

·         Ensure compliance with all governmental and contractual requirements

·         Serve as project leader based on broad knowledge of production engineering

·         Serve as coach/mentor for less experienced engineers and field personnel

·         Ensure that assets deliver on production and financial targets and forecasts

·         Develop realistic schedules, budgets and cost estimates for all ongoing and special project work

·         Ensure adherence to all company, local, state and federal health, environment and safety regulations

·         Seek opportunities to network outside the company to build relationships and gather information that lead to future business opportunities

·         Serve on evaluation teams for potential acquisitions in relevant geographic areas

 

Requirements:



·         Engineering degree and  7+ years experience in oil and gas production operations or equivalent combination of education and experience.

·         Specialized knowledge in at least one technical discipline (production, reservoir, petroleum, drilling or facilities engineering)

·         Prior experience working in onshore operations, preferably in California

·         Experience in artificial lift design and application, well completion and remedial well work; some drilling experience preferred

·         Prior experience working in—and preferably leading -- cross-functional teams

·         Understanding of applicable new technology

·         Demonstrated experience working with key vendors and contractors

 

Strong leadership and field operations management a MUST.
