Payroll Tax Supervisor

TrueBlue has an opening for a Payroll Tax Supervisor at our Corporate Headquarters in Tacoma, WA. SUMMARY: The Payroll Tax Supervisor will be responsible for timely payments of payroll taxes, including reconciling to general ledger and preparing journal entries. This position will also keep the Payroll Tax Manager in the communication loop for all outstanding issues and fees regarding daily compliance and federal taxes. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: - Oversee the functions of the Payroll Tax team - Prepare 940 and 941 tax forms - Research and resolve outstanding payroll tax issues - Audit state tax deposits, prepare monthly/quarterly/annual state tax reconciliations - Provide assistance to the Payroll Tax team in the preparation of quarter-end state unemployment returns - Research and respond to all incoming government agency inquiries - Provide payroll data/reports as required to various departments, management etc. - Investigate and resolve tax notices in a timely manner to minimize/mitigate the risk of potential liabilities. - Process mag-media and follow up on outstanding mag-media and e-filings. - Analyze and compile data of W2s and W2cs for any necessary tax amendments. - Implementation of tax changes (i.e. test scripts). - Special projects as assigned by Payroll Tax Manager QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business or related field preferred - Minimum of 3 years experience in accounting and payroll - Practical knowledge of payroll processing, general payroll policy, government regulations and payroll tax requirements. - Multi-state tax experience a must. - Knowledge of international taxes preferred. - Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) - Strong analytical skills and attention to detail - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Strong customer service and team orientation.   TrueBlue, Inc. provides an excellent benefits package, which includes: Company-matching 401(k), Employee Stock Purchase Program, Tuition Reimbursement, College Savings Fund, and comprehensive Health and Welfare coverage including Medical/Dental/Vision and prescription drug benefits.   We are proud of our diverse environment, EOE, M/F/D/V.   NOTICE REGARDING BACKGROUND CHECKS: TrueBlue will conduct a background check to verify the information contained in your application for employment and to help determine whether you are a suitable candidate for such employment.
