Network Engineer (must read, write and speak fluent Italian)

Job Description: Job Title:  Sr Network Engineer Duration:  4 months Location:  7000 Weston Parkway, Cary, NC - 27513 Position Description: Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, and 6-10 years related technical experience and Cisco certifications desirable. Candidates MUST read, write and speak fluent Italian and be prepared to work permanent third shift or may involve rotating shifts in a 7X24 hour NOC environment. Experience with TCP/IP, Cisco routers, hubs and Ethernet switches. Knowledge of WAN technologies such as MPLS and frame relay. Knowledge of routing, BGP, multicasting, DNS, customer applications, and advanced trouble shooting techniques.Provide service support to internal and external customers. Support Antoveneta in Italy (now part of part of Monte Dei Paschi Di Siena). Italian language skills are a contractual REQUIREMENT. Responsible for monitoring, diagnosing, referring Inquiries and completing work requests regarding ABN Amro network equipment, communications systems, application software, and network communication issues. Enlist network management personnel, terminal personnel, and other support groups as necessary to facilitate trouble resolution. Provide information to the customer regarding the current status or resolution of the reported trouble in accordance with procedures. Work customarily and regularly (50% of time or more) requires the exercise of discretion and independent judgment. Address problems from simple to complex pertaining to WAN, LAN, and DNS. Resolution is both reactive and proactive.
