Manufacturing Engineer - Shafts
Manufacturing Engineer - Shafts
Candidate must have minimum 5 years with manufacturing processing of aerospace drive shafts for engines or helicopters. Our product family includes rotating parts - Inconel and steel shafts, thin and thick wall, up to 60 inches long. These parts involve tight tolerance turning, milling, grinding, splines, threads, deep hole drill, balancing, coating processes, NDT, and heat treat. Must be familiar with 3,4, & 5 axis milling centers, VTL’s, horizontal lathes, and grinding machines.  Â
Must have experience leading new product introductions, process planning from start to finish, customer and operator interaction, establishing timelines, project flow, quality systems, etc. Requires project management, teamwork, customer correspondence, project milestones and strong verbal and written communication skills. Working in a manufacturing environment, knowledge of Aerospace specifications, and GD&T are a must.

Additional Responsibilities include:
Must be well versed in UG-NX2 or above.
Create operations sheets, routings and 3D models.Â
Tool design – Concepts for fixtures, gages, and special cutters
Purchase Order review and fulfilling of all requirements
Disposition of nonconforming material
Rework procedures,
Working to a predetermined budget – tracking costsÂ
Customer change notices or requests.
Able to research, understand and implement new technologies for cost savings and process improvements.
Able to lead technical discussions and work in a collaborative team-based environment.
Able to perform concurrent engineering with our customers engineering and technical personnel.
** Experience working with Sikorsky, Honeywell, GE, or Rolls Royce shafts is highly preferred.

Education & Experience Required:
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or equivalent Engineering and or 6-10 years experience manufacturing in an aerospace manufacturing environment.Â
