Are you looking for an exciting and new opportunity?Do you have good Customer Service skills? PAY:$11.00+/DOE We have an immediate opening for a Mail Clerk in our Alpharetta, GA office.  Mail Service responsibilities include receiving inbound shipments from various carriers including U.S. mail, sort and distribute mail, prepare and ship US mail and overnight packages, maintain office equipment, monitor equipment repair logs, order supplies and stock, maintain shared work areas, procure, receive and stock office and kitchen supplies, maintain customer areas and conference rooms and ensure that meeting rooms are properly set up and order is restored at end of the event. In addition to Mail Service responsibility, this position will provide back up for the Receptionist in this location and will need to be able to present themselves in a professional manner to the public.   Duties and Responsibilities Â· Receive inbound shipments from various vendors, checking for correct address and damages.· Log inbound shipments, notify recipient within 3 hours of receipt and distribute to addressee. · Prepare and ship urgent shipments same day as request. · Sort all incoming mail, including interoffice mail, “mystery mail, newspapers, packages and freight and deliver to addressee or place in individual’s mailbox as appropriate by 3 p.m. daily. · Operate mail processing and overnight mail equipment. Utilizes shipping/receiving equipment such as hand trucks and mail carts.· Process outgoing first class, certified and registered mail. Weigh outgoing mail and properly calculate and affix postage.· Process overnight shipments within time guidelines for facility. Weigh and affix proper documentation. · Maintain an organized and orderly mailroom.  Ensure mail sorting/mail box signage is current.· Request and ensure set up of new hire mailboxes, name plates, and ensure new hire workstation is clean and well stocked with supplies.· Ensure that shared workstations are cleared following use and kept clean and well stocked.· Order and maintain adequate inventory of office supplies within budget guidelines.· Ensure that printer station, copiers, fax machine and other office equipment is kept clean and well stocked. · Monitor equipment repair logs and request appropriate maintenance and repairs.· Procure, receive and stock beverages for employee break/café area.· Maintain appearance of employee break/café area.  · Assist internal customers with outgoing faxes and notify them of incoming faxes.  Re-route misdirected faxes.· Maintain customer and conference rooms. Ensure that areas are clean, equipment is well maintained and rooms are prepared for guests at all times. Assist with room set up and tear down. Coordinate equipment and room set up requests. · Maintain secured storage areas within guidelines. · Use Spherion Unified Tracker daily and report issues as needed · Assist with overflow tasks as assigned from dedicated roles. · Assist with office moves · Hang posters or other types of promotional items as requested. · Cross-train and provide back up to facility receptionist.  Education and Work Experience: Â· High school diploma or equivalent· Previous mail experience helpful· Customer Service experience· Office/Clerical Experience Skills and Attributes: Â· Basic Word, Excel and Outlook skills· Flexible· Enjoys working with customers· Effective communication· Detail Oriented· Ability to work with minimal supervision· Can keep a timely schedule· Must be a team player· Good organizational skills· Professional· High degree of Accuracy· Problem Solving Physical Aspects: Ability to walking and stand over a long period of timeAbility to manually push mail cart Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Since 1946, Spherion has been helping talented individuals find rewarding job opportunities that drive excellence in their career.
