ARE YOU HITTING A CEILING? Location:  New Orleans, LA Position: Electrical Estimator One of our clients, a commercial contractor in the Gulf Coast region, is looking for a commercial electrical estimator. They focus on commercial, industrial, institutional, and petro-chemical work, and have an outstanding reputation in the area.  Due to an upcoming retirement, they would like to find a person who can step in and be able to fill a void.  They are extremely selective and offer one of the best compensation packages around.  Along with these benefits, the opportunity for advancement is available for the right candidate.  They have a large backlog and are extremely stable.Do not miss your once in a lifetime opportunity!!  Apply today!!Duties and Responsibilities Performs accurate material take offs and prepare material lists Estimates labor hours required to complete specified work using estimating tools Negotiates with suppliers to obtain best available pricing Prepares written scope of work to define exclusions, inclusions, and definition of work Follow ups with customers for bid submission Negotiates with customers to obtain the best value for the customer while maintaining profitability for the Company Prepares and submits any required documentation after award Coordinate and estimate change orders throughout projectBasic Qualifications· Minimum of High School diploma· Minimum of 5 years experience as an electrical estimator for commercial projects over 5 million· Firm understanding in utilizing MS Office and especially MS Excel· Ability to read blueprints, interpret job specifications, and perform material take offs· Conceptual estimating experience a definite plus  Additional Desirable Skills and Knowledge Knowledge of electronic security devices, communication, and low-voltage is desirable. Knowledge of how to use MS Office is desirable.
