Director of Reinsurance Accounting

Our client is an emerging leader in the insurance industry and they are seeking a forward-thinking Director to oversee their Reinsurance Accounting group. This group is the driving force behind this company?s growth and new business and the role itself will have tremendous visibility to the senior executives within the firm. The Director will be the primary point of contact for all reinsurance finance and accounting functions and will lead the reinsurance treaty implementation and principal framework for significant block assumption treaties. The Director of Reinsurance Accounting will specifically be responsible for providing leadership to corporate and business unit accounting and finance staff. The Director will also enforce due diligence and implementation pieces on transactions as well as representing the company on accounting and reporting matters and supporting the parent firm with corporate financial reporting. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required. CPA strongly preferred. 7+ years plus of financial reporting and accounting experience. Thorough knowledge and hands-on experience with GAAP and statutory accounting. Reinsurance experience is a MUST. M&A and implementation / conversion experience a plus. Demonstrated ability to envisage and communicate accounting principals and to develop relevant, effective solutions for a new business. Accounting policy experience a strong plus.
