Core Java Developer

94582 Our NYC client is in search of the right candidate for a Java Developer role! As a Developer, the right candidate will be responsible for working on new and existing Java applications in our middle office suite of trade management applications. Primary Responsibilities: The implementation of software features on our new reference data management platform. Providing second-line support for the functionality currently in production. Contributing to the overall advancement of our team's understanding of development best practices.Requirements: Demonstrated mastery of and several years of production experience with the Java technology stack, including core Java packages and concurrent programming theory. Talent and proven experience with web application UI design and implementation, including the numerous technologies in the web stack, such as JavaScript, HTML, XML, etc. Past success delivering several software applications to production that solve complex business problems, with preference given to detailed business domains such as financial services. Mastery of and several years experience with advanced programming concepts such as test-driven development, OO design patterns and refactoring. Experience using jUnit and Mock objects for unit testing at least one project that was successfully deployed to production and maintained during subsequent releases. Experience working on a team that uses iterative development, with preference given to candidates with experience in an Agile (such as SCRUM) planning cycle. Experience with continuous integration concepts and the tools that support it, as well as other eXtreme Programming engineering practices. Proficiency with Linux or UNIX, especially Solaris 10, including scripting in Bourne. Experience working in a collaborative environment including being comfortable with pair programming and group code reviews.
