95406 ControllerTemporary to Permanent OpportunityCompensation to $80K annually Our client in the non-profit industry is looking for a new Controller to join their team. This is a temp to perm opportunity that is an immediate need. Depending on experience, this position can pay up to $80K. Responsibilities for this position include: Oversee all aspects of the general ledger. Ensure that Company complies with all applicable accounting procedures and standards in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), the Financial Accounting Services Board (FASB), and the Office of Management and Budgets (OMB). Proactively review company's accounting, financial reporting and internal control policies and procedures to seek continuous improvement and to achieve government and regulatory compliance. Review all balance sheet accounts and subsidiary ledgers, ensuring reconciliation to the general ledger on a monthly basis. Reconcile donations to the Development Office records and grant revenue and expenses to the Grants Management records on a monthly and annual basis. Prepare and maintain fixed asset schedules. Maintain and develop the computerized accounting system. Oversee daily cash management to maximize interest earnings from short-term investments. Documenting financial processes. Support annual budgeting, sound internal financial decision-making, and all internal and external reporting. Coordinate and prepare for the annual audit, including A-133. Assist the Director of Finance in preparing annual budgets and long-range financial forecasts. Prepare financial reports, including monthly financial statements, all federal and state forms and returns. Provide periodic analysis and documentation in support of the financial statements, annual budgets, and long-range financial forecasts. Prepare budget to actual reports monthly for department managers and quarterly for the Board. Supervise finance staff Manage staff accountant in performing accounts payable and receivable functions, and limited financial analysis. Train regional and national site personnel on financial procedures.Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field; CPA a plus. 5+ years of related experience; non-profit accounting experience a plus. Expertise with Excel. Proficiency with computerized accounting systems required; Blackbaud experience a plus. Management experience or strong desire to develop management skills. Willingness to participate in cross-training with other financial positions. Strong planning and organizational skills with keen attention to detail. Strong orientation toward customer service. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects under the pressure of deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively and follow-through with others.
