Business -Software Analyst

Must have worked with .net or SAS in the last 3 years

 

JOB SUMMARY:

The IT Analyst works with internal and external clients and thedevelopment team to ensure that requests for the development/enhancement ofinternally developed software applications/systems meet the needs/expectationsof the business users.  The IT Analyst is the seam between thesoftware users and the software developers. They convey the demands of thesoftware users to the developers.  The ITAnalyst will develop, write, and edit Information Service's related technicaland administrative documentation and publications.

 

DESCRIPTION:

 

·Analyze userneeds to facilitate the development of software (application/database/datawarehouse/data extract) solutions;

·Prepare (andmaintain) documentation suitable for conveying user requirements to thedevelopment team;

·Assist (asneeded) in the design or customization of software for client use, with the aimof optimizing operational efficiency; (Note that this does NOT implyprogramming responsibilities.) (Sr. Analyst)

·Assist (asneeded) with the analysis and design of databases (and/or database/datawarehouse tables) within an application area, working individually orcoordinating database development as part of a team; (Sr. Analyst)

·Assist indocumenting software system testing and validation procedures;

·Review and revisepreviously created software/system documentation;

·Create graphicalimages, flow charts, and diagrams for inclusion in software/system documentation;

·Assist inassessing/ensuring the production of high quality application code which meetsuser requirements and adheres to established company's development standards.

EXPERIENCE:

·At least 2 yearsof experience in a managed care organization with a strong understanding of managedcare concepts and business processes for Medicaid and Medicare programs;

·Working knowledgeof company's software technology (e.g., SAS, .NET, MHS, SQL Server, Microsoft/Wintelplatform);

·Pluses include:

oExperience usingstatistical software, such as SAS;

oPriorprogramming  and/or software developmentexperience or training;

oSoftware/application/database/datawarehouse architecture and design experience or training;

oIT ProjectManagement experience or training;

oFamiliarity withuse cases, requirements management.

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS/CONSIDERATIONS:

·Bachelor’s degree(B.S.) in Computer Science or MIS from four-year College or University. (Equivalentcombination of education and experience acceptable.)
