Attorney - Employment Law
Description: Partners with senior leadership on strategic objectives and other matters of significance to the Company Manages litigation and other matters requiring the involvement of outside counsel Evaluates merits of and prepares responses to EEOC charges and other administrative agency complaints Provides guidance and recommendations to executives and managers relative to wrongful termination, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, OSHA, immigration, labor/union, wage and hour, non-compete matters, and the like Represents clients at hearings, settlement conferences, and mediations Provides guidance and recommendations related to drafting and updating company policies and procedures Provide analysis and legal advice to Human Resource Managers relevant to internal or external complaints Negotiates with opposing parties and counsel on employment-related disputes Interfaces with in-house legal staff and outside counsel on employment-law related matters Makes proactive recommendations to internal clients and trade associations regarding legal compliance matters and changes to the law Assists Home Office and the Field in responding to DOL and OSHA audits and investigations Utilizes on-line legal resources to draft legal memoranda and briefs Provides direction to support personnel for all clerical and administrative functionsQualifications:Partners and collaborates with internal clients relative to legal matters of employment, labor and related issues for all Home Office, Field, Temporary and Professional personnel. Juris Doctor degree and member of Wisconsin State Bar Minimum 3 years experience in a law firm or in-house attorney role preferred Prior experience in various Employment Law subject matters including Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, FLSA, OSHA, and labor law Proficient in various software applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database systems Under moderate supervision by Director Possesses and applies a developing knowledge of principles, practices and procedures of a particular practice area to the completion of assignments Confers with Director on difficult or unusual matters Has limited latitude for unreviewed action or decision Ability to develop good relationships with internal and external customers Ability to influence stakeholders Solid project management skills Solid research skills Capable of multi-tasking in a fast paced environment Knowledge of the Companys vision, operations and strategies Knowledge of industry, key competitors and of the ways Company seeks to win in the marketplace Proficient in analyzing routine and complex legal issues in specialty areas Proficient in preparing written opinions on complex legal issues Proficient in making presentations to and communicating with clients, executive officers and other audiences Supervision of outside counsel on routine matters Minimal travelSalary/Benefits: Salary commensurate with experienceWe offer all of the advantages you would expect from an industry leader including a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, holiday and vacation pay, 401K, stock purchase plan, and much more.Job Location: Milwaukee, WIJob Number: 3827Company Profile:Most people know Manpower as a world leader in the staffing industry.
