Asst. General Manager

Job Purpose:

Provides golfing and social entertainment by supervising staff; planning and maintaining grounds; planning and presenting activities. Excellent opportunity for rapid advancement. (Candidate must have previous Golf Course employment Experience.)

Duties:

*Maintains golf club staff by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, polices, and procedures.

*Achieves work objectives by forecasting by gathering pertinent information; identifying and evaluating options; choosing a course of action.

*Accomplishes financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing and annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective action.

* Keeps golf course in playing condition by maintaining grounds and turf, overseeing tilling, cultivating and grading new turf areas; directing applications of lime, fertilizer, insecticide and fungicide.

*Beautifies grounds by adding landscaping enhancements.

*Attracts new members and players by promoting services; anticipating golfing trends; developing networks with those in a position to recommend new services; satisfying current members and players.

*Maintains club buildings by identifying needed repairs; selecting maintenance methods; utilizing external resources as needed.

*Provides Food and Beverage services by maintaining restaurant, beverage cart, snack bar and catering private parties.

*Sells golf merchandise by selecting goods; maintaining pro shop; offering advice.

*Generates revenues by collecting Membership, Food and Beverage, Pro Shop, Golf Lessons and Green Fees.

*Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.

*Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
