Security and Emergency Management Faculty

 

Franklin University, located in Columbus, Ohio, is seeking a full time faculty member in the Security and Emergency Management Program.  This individual will work in an environment focused on teaching working adults. Responsibilities include oversight of courses across the Program, along with hiring, mentoring, and managing adjunct faculty.  Other responsibilities include scheduling and staffing of courses, and University service/committee work.  Faculty members work in collaboration with instructional designers, practitioners in the field, our in-house multi-media group and peers to create adult-centered active-learning courses.  Teaching load is negotiable.  Research is not required, but is supported.

 

The Security and Emergency Management faculty position requires a Doctorate in either Public Administration; Criminal Justice Administration; Criminology; Emergency Management, or a closely related field of study. Candidates who are ABD or candidates who are enrolled in a terminal degree program and have prior experience in the above areas may also be considered.  Candidates should possess competencies through education, teaching, or experience in at least two of the following areas:  Criminal Justice Administration, Criminology, Public Administration, Emergency Management or a closely related field.  Academic experience teaching related courses at a college or university and curriculum development experience are highly preferred.
