Operations Manager

To manage and direct all uniformed staff members, special services staff members, and field operations personnel of ABM Security Services as well as encompassing the day-to-day operations necessary to provide security services as contracted with the client. To work with designated Branch Manager to ensure good communications and clear procedural follow-through between officers, clients, and the operational support hub.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



Work with Branch Manager to assure compliance with policies and procedures at all designated accounts.



Report any client complaints or dissatisfaction to designated Branch Manager and/or District Manager.



Assist Branch Manager in ascertaining and preparing Post Procedures, policies, and equipment, which may be supplied at the job accounts or improved upon, for customer and safety-security satisfaction.



Assist Branch Manager during the start-up of new accounts with surveys, prepare post orders, staffing etc.



Notify Personnel Administrator daily of staffing needs within District.



Assist Branch Manager with final interview of prospective applicants.



Review daily Field Inspector logs for district accounts and respond/report as necessary.



Communicate operational and support needs to Operations/Branch Manager for proper follow-up. This includes, but is not limited to schedule revisions, exception reports, vehicle logs, mileage logs, vacation requests, disciplinary follow-up, etc.



Provide daily information to Field Coordinators and Field Inspectors on specific needs of your accounts.



Revise existing post orders on a regular basis.



Maintain "flex pool" of officers within district to eliminate unnecessary non-scheduled overtime.



Work with Branch Manager and Training Coordinator to revise/implement training programs for your facilities.



Perform all other functions as assigned by the Branch Manager.



Final selection of all qualified personnel for positions within the Operations Department.



Ensure accurate completion of all Personnel Action Notices.



Insure hourly wages for each particular site meets the parameters dictated by contractual agreement with the client.



Supervises all new hires, terminations, personnel actions, or transfers within the department.



Supervise the training of Field Inspectors, Field Coordinators, Site Supervisors, and all new Security Officers.



Oversees the maintenance of Post Orders for all client accounts.



Supervises all account scheduling and placement of all security officers to effectively fulfill the clients’ needs.



Oversee all payroll functions from the daily posting of hours worked, to the distribution of payroll checks to the individual security officers.



Maintain good communications with the clients to assure quality services.



Maintain present labor situation and future labor trends in order to maintain close controls on all factors that would affect the overall profit margin, such as overtime figures and labor/billing percentages.



Insure all personnel procedures and policies are followed.



Authorize expenditures for Operations department and submit expenditures for payment.



Monitor condition and maintenance of Operations Department vehicles and equipment.



Investigate client and employee grievances and complaints.



Review Salary Change Orders of Operations Department salaried members with Branch Manager.



Manage the Special Services Supervisor and his department employees.



Monitor the Monthly Client Contact Logs submitted by the field operations supervisory staff to assure adequate contact and sufficient public relations.



Check for accuracy and deliver to Branch Manager all Expense Account Reports submitted by the Area Service Coordinators.



Supervise the scheduling and payroll function of the computer system to see that it is being used effectively.



Perform all other functions as assigned by the Branch Manager.



Previous supervisory and management experience with a strong knowledge of contract security services. Must possess good verbal and written communication skills.



Perform all additional duties as assigned by Management.
