SCA Training Wage: $ per hourSCA Wage (after completion of training program): $ per hourEssential Duties and Responsibilities: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.•Responsible for Visitor/Access Control at the Entry Control Points for Naval complex to include safeguarding, monitoring and reporting incidents of theft, robbery, riots, lawlessness and demonstrations.•Verify that individuals seeking to gain access have a valid military or civilian photo ID and documentation (vehicle decal or pass) prior to granting vehicle or pedestrian access.•Will be armed with an M-9 and will be required to exercise the minimum amount of force in all situations. •Protect all persons and property in view.•Attend Guard mount as members of the Naval Security Forces and receive daily watch information from the NSF Watch Commander.•Observe and patrol designated perimeter areas, structures and activities of security interest.•Report all violations of published and/or verbal orders.•To remain on assignment until properly relieved by direction of a supervisor.•To pass all information relative to assignment to the relieving guard.•To sound the alarm and take action when warranted in event of fire, disorder or any other emergency.•To keep the supervisor advised of changes and conditions within and surrounding the assignment manned.•To turn over any money or valuables recovered to a supervisor, immediately reporting the circumstances.•To obey all proper orders emanating from supervisory authority.•Deter and report persons or vehicles attempting or gaining unauthorized access or exit to areas as assigned.•Adhere to all employment policies and procedures.•Must be able to work flexible hours including overtime, Holidays and weekends.•Other duties as assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities:NoneQualification Requirements:To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:Education and/or Experience:•Must be at least 21 years of age to be armed.•Possess a High School Diploma or Equivalent GED. Possess the knowledge and ability to perform all required guard services duties such as approaching and identifying suspicious persons, packages and vehicles.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, and Affiliated Training:•U.S. Citizenship•Valid State Driver's License•Must possess or be able to obtain a DoD security clearance•Be able to meet any Federal requirements to work as an Armed Security Guard.•Must possess or be able to obtain current State armed security officer registration.Language Skills:Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.Mathematical Skills:Basic math skills to include the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.Reasoning Ability:Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret basic supervision policies and procedures and be capable of making decisions affecting security at the assigned site.Safety and Security:Observes safety and security procedures. Determines appropriate action beyond guidelines. Reports potentially unsafe conditions.
