Chenega Security & Protection Services, LLC Job Description Job Title: Human Resources Technician Reports To: Human Resources Manager FLSA Status: Regular Full-Time Non-Exempt Work Location: Ashburn, VA Hourly Wage: $20.00 - 21.15 per hour depending on experienceSummary: This position is responsible for the day-to-day Human Resources clerical and administrative support activities. Processes new hire paperwork for submission to Corporate and participates in other employment activities including on-site transition of new contracts and existing contracts. 2. Set-up and continued maintenance of personnel files. 3. Conducts recruitment effort as needed. 4. Plans and conducts new employee orientation. 5. Provides instruction to employees on HR policies, procedures and benefits. 6. Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures and HR programs. 7. Assists with maintenance and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the organization. 8. Assists with maintaining records of benefit plans participation such as insurance and 401k, personnel transactions such as new hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting and reports them to Corporate in a timely manner. 9. Maintains performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization. 10. Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems. 11. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs. 12. Must be able to work flexible hours to include weekends and holidays. Education and/or Experience – BA/BS degree and/or Human Resources Certification (PHR) and 2 years or more related experience or additional experience minimum 5 to 6 years in the HR field will be considered in lieu of educational requirements. Experience in government or government contracting environment preferred. Language Skills - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Mathematical Skills - Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability - Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables Computers - Must have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database, (MSWord, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), and Outlook. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations – Valid State Drivers License Clearance - Must be eligible to obtain a DoD security clearance, but not required to start. Other Skills and Abilities: •Effective oral and written communication skills. •Excellent interpersonal skills. •Must have the ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is in consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation or government law. •Ability to organize and prioritize work. •Ability to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
